He's older now but I love how Saban cut bait with Applewhite a few years ago. Literally, half way through the season there was chatter that Saban didn't think he was ready for prime time, admitted his mistake and was moving on after the last game of the season. It is a shame Sumlin didn't do the same thing with Spav after last season.

McElroy tells a pretty good story about that short-lived episode with Applewhite. Saban hated him and just rolled his eyes whenever Applewhite started his schtick in meetings.

Simple, how has he done in the P5? How many coaches/AD in the P5 kept him on as OC? Sumlin does this, draw up the papers before it it is given to appltetits. Oh and whoever in the AD/BOR went along with appletits, let them walk too!

Well, keeping Spav is unacceptable. That being said, if you are going to make a change, why not make it the best one possible.

And I have no idea who the best one possible is.
