It's tough, but my vote is for the 2010 Nebraska at Kyle - A&M wins 9-6. Von Miller, the Wrecking Crew, and what felt like V Day after we won and rushed the field...

Johnny Manziel & the upset at Alabama is #2 for me.

Oh, and BTHO ASU!

The ou game that same year, if I'm not mistaken. The atmosphere was live.

A&M vs Duke (only the 2nd half was good though)

Last year at USCe was pretty epic too.

In terms of sheer competitive punch-for-punch, the 9-6 victory over Nebraska their last year in Big XII (2010)

OR

While the outcome was obviously unfortunate,in terms of sheer electricity and atmosphere and spectacle, it's hard to top to final UT-A&M game (2011)

[edit to lookup actual years]

2010 Nebraska was great. But pure best? Gotta be Michigan and Ags in fiesta bowl. I think 1996

2010 Nebraska is at the top. I think if you measured the sound at Kyle this last year, it would be louder than Nebraska, but nothing has FELT louder. That game was insane, and as time goes on, I imagine those of us that were there will continue to embellish the story of how great it was.

Alabama The Rematch was a great game also but doesn't feel as great as Nebraska because the outcome.

I was at Ole Miss (2013 I think) and that was a great atmosphere, plus got to high five the players that ran up to the away section, and then Johnny came over as well. Was epic.

Edit:

Honorable mention to Oklahoma 2010. That was also epic.

I refuse to discuss the last game against t.u.

A&M vs Okie Lite at Kyle in 1997. It was a Halloween game that we won in overtime. Our first over time win at Kyle after the rule change that got rid of "tie" as a possible outcome in a college football game. The atmosphere was freaking electric. Don't think I could describe entirely what made it my favorite football memory, but for me it was just the perfect game.

Nebraska in 1998 was a great one as well. The aforementioned zero U game in October of '10 was a good one for me as well but that was because I had been back from Iraq for all of 3 days when my wife surprised me with tickets to that game.

2010 Nebraska. Last time I ever drank a Four Loko.

JFF's last game vs Miss State is up there too. Crowd chanting "One More Year" and then doing the War Hymn as Johnny jumped in the stands to join in was pretty awesome.

I hold a grudge against my parents for not meeting, getting married, and having me much sooner so that I could have attended this game.

Tough to pick just one, but I guess I'd have to say the UL-L game in 1997.
No rappers had died that week, so we were able to pull it out 66-0.

Not a time you should want to live through. The game was great because of what happened but I would trade getting blown out for 20 years to not have the memories I do from that time period

Common responses:

  • Bonfire
  • 2010 Nebraska
  • Late 90's 80's heydays.

I didn't become aware of Aggie football until 2004, my freshman year, so I didn't even see most of these on TV. It looks like I missed quite a bit.

Holy Crap I don't know how I forgot that OU game in 2002. My brother was a freshman at A&M and I was a junior in high school. That was my very first Aggie game to see in person.

Revised list:

  • OU-A&M 2002 (Reggie's emergence, unranked upset of #1)
  • Nebraska 2010 (9-6 slugfest on their way out the Big 12 door)
  • Final A&M-UT matchup (crappy outcome but incredible atmosphere, spectacle, and history)

The Bonfire Game was unreal. Oh I've been to more exciting games, but that was something very special to have been at in person.
