The freshman class for Fall 2015 is another record size - 10,400 students (28% increase in 3 years) and yet fish camp attendance is going down. 6,100 freshmen registered this year compared to 6,500 last year.

It seems like the bigger A&M grows the smaller the percentage of students that participate in traditions.

Hey guys, rest easy, there's also an IMPACT Camp that does an awesome job and is very well attended. My oldest is third generation Aggie and is attending the IMPACT Camp instead of a Fish Camp. We'll be fine, everybody have a great weekend, and Gig'em!!!

Fish Camp was absolutely terrible except for meeting some trim to poke on the next half decade. That was the only reason I could find for subjecting myself to that ETX humidity.

Because we take so many more people than Texas, we are becoming a backup school to Texas for many kids.

The year I applied (2000) I knew several kids at Southlake Carroll that got in provisionally to Texas, but got rejected by A&M. Things appear to have changed greatly since then.

At least part of the problem is cost. Fish Camp needs a rich old counselor in a bad way to give some money IMO.

Fish Camp, does not an Aggie make.

It was terrible in 1991, and I cant believe its any better now. I wish I had just skipped it altogether.

I'm glad I went I guess, otherwise I probably would've felt like I missed out on something important. Having said that, after the first football game I never saw amy of those people again, and I didn't mind
