Only because it generates revenue. "Texas Aggies" in the endzone does not generate revenue so it'll be tougher to change that. It's all about what makes money, not what makes fans happy. Pleasing fans comes second.

Serious question - why does Cook and others not like Texas Aggies? Is there some type of trademark issue or it it because people think that we would be confused nationally with a school in Austin.

There used to be lots of "Aggies". Utah, New Mexico, etc. Jason's only reason is brand identification. During one discussion be produced an Aggie - Longhorn football program from the twenties that had "Texas A&M Aggies". Of course it was printed in Austin. He thinks not enough people, nationwide, knowing the difference in Texas A&M and Texas. I believe he is wrong.
