I enjoy watching Duck Dynasty. It's refreshing to see something on TV you can watch with your kids without having to worry about the contenet. It's also refreshing to see parents that teach their children right from wrong. And raise their children in an environment focused on God. This country would be a better place if more people followed that example.

I dont really watch DD or claim to be a fan, but what's backward about them?
I don't think they're backwards (although they do try to portray themselves that way).. And the first couple seasons of their show was really genuine and good tv..
But since then they've become the definition of selling out. They are simultaneously trying to cash out on scripted reality TV, w horing thier brand out to every Chinese trinket maker imaginable, and preying on the lowest common denominator of people by peddling their "values" and "morals" while really just trying to grab a few extra bucks out of honest folks pockets..

The entire show is a scripted fake, a brilliant one in that apparently a lot of people watch it and think it's real, but it's not.
Nothing wrong with DD. Hipsters are required to make fun of it though.
I don't have any issue with people who watch it. It's still just a TV show though like any other.

TV commercials hawked the $30 tickets for sale.

It's a reality show so of course it is scripted. They all are.
