People here really have some thin skin if that one comment by him gets them that riled up. If were somehow able to nab him as DC, it would be our best coordinator hire in over 15 years.

Mushchamp would be awesome. Great recruiter and would really help us out with malik, sheffield, mack, etc. Would give us really strong
momentum heading into the off season. Also he can coach defense, so
that is a net positive regardless.
Just don't know if he'd be willing to take a step back (I guess he has to) or if Saban will hire him back when Smart leaves.

Boom is a great DC, head coach not so much. Everywhere he's been - top 10 D's.

However, I don't know if him and Sumlin would gel...but for $5 mil a year Sumlin should make it work and get the best. No more retreads.

I think that would make our staff toxic and create a schism that will produce worse results than what we are seeing now.

If you guys think Sumlin seems arrogant at times... Muschamp to me seems much worse.

You wouldn't want him as your DC? are you an idiot? As an LSU fan i really hope he doesn't make his was to CS either. He seems to suck as a HC but he is one hell of a DC.

Well, Muschamp was making slightly less than a mil when he was DC/HCIW at tu. The only way we could land him would be with an incentive laden deal. Less money up front, but much reward for defensive improvement.

Muschamp is at heart an SEC coach. His preference would be to stay within the conference, IMO. If this is the year that Kirby Smart moves on to a HC position, Saban will strongly consider him, and has the money available for the position.
