All of you idiots who think he'd be a bad hire because of Flordia's struggles
obviously haven't watched their team. Their defense is good but gets
hosed due to horrible offensive struggles (they held Mizzou to like 120
yards and still got destroyed). Muschamp was a lights out DC for the
whorns and is a great recruiter. He brings a fire and passion to that
side of the ball that we haven't seen in CS since we had a Vietnamese
guy playing linebacker.

Of course, a lot of you haters are the same Sumlin apologists still scrambling to find reason in a wasteland of
lackluster play and effort. Good call dudes.

Hire Muschamp. He makes the defense care.

For those saying "No way" based on his past comments on A&M...do y'all remember this guy named Kliff that used to be our OC. I'm sure he NEVER said anything negative about A&M before coaching here.

Coach Sumlin what was the final factor in your decision to hire Muschamp as DC??

I am amazed that some of you look at the points given up by Florida as a barometer for Muschamps defense. I will give you Alabama. In that one game only, Muschamps defense did not play well this year. But, in the other two games mentioned (LSU and Missouri) his defense was not the problem. Against LSU his defense gave up 305 yards and against Missouri they gave up 119 yards. I would gladly take a DC that could keep LSU around 300 yards and hold Missouri under 200 yards.

One last thing, Florida ranks 13th in yards allowed per game. That is the stat I care about for a DC. If the OC and special teams coach are doing their jobs, then if you are top 20 in yards allowed, you should be in great shape.

Or we could NOT do it and NOT get worse.

1 - they have been struggling to get any offense for the last 2 years. That puts a significant strain on any D to perform.

2 - Recruiting has gone downhill each of his seasons at UF. Luckily, if he came here, he wouldn't have to worry about it. He would just give the okays after watching film of the kids his assistants and Sumlin's assistants would recruit.

3 - Muschamp is a very good defensive coach.

4 - If I had my pick of any DC though, it would be Narduzzi from Mich. St. without even a slight bit of hesitation.

There is less than a 0% chance he comes here.
