I suspect we will have a whole new staff next year.

The day's not over and I've had tons of folks reaching out to me laughing their asses off.

There is a difference between winning, losing, and humiliation. As a proud Aggie, I'm used to winning, I've lost some before, but I do not tolerate humiliation.

Do you?

Snyder is gone and I think Spav gets demoted. I would not be surprised to see others gone too.

Also, anyone who doubts that this is the house Johnny built isn't paying attention.

I knew there was no reason to pony up the cash that they wanted for the seats I have occupied for 26 years. Big Headed Karma comes back and bites us on the hiney. I will re-buy at the 'Fire sale"

OP- You must have been asleep or in a coma during the last 10 years of Aggie football. Plenty of embarrassing/humiliating loses. Off the top of my head I can think of 3 near 50 point losses by Sherman alone (2 to OU, 1 to KSU).

I don't see that happening since the Former Student alumni base is so large. They might need to adjust ticket prices, but they can get a good crowd.

But I do now understand how Rice Stadium got built so big. A couple good years and people open up their wallets. Those late '40's Rice teams must have been something. By the 70's it could only fill up for the Super Bowl ('74) and when the Aggies or horns came to town.

I think Rice stadium used to be the home of a professional team. It was probably built for more than just Rice.

Rice was THE Houston team up to the 60s when professional football arrived with the Oilers.

The Oilers played there from '65-'67 when they were an AFL team.

quote:
The Oilers won the AFL Eastern Division title again in 1967, then became the first professional football team to play in a domed stadium, when they moved into Houston's Astrodome for the 1968 season. Previously, the Oilers had played atJeppesen Stadium at the University of Houston (now called Robertson Stadium) from 1960 to 1964, and Rice University's stadium from 1965 to 1967.
