yeah, Arkansas just decided to run the no gain play on 4th down in overtime because they wanted us to have the win

The problem is, A&M does not yet have the mature defensive unit designed to compete in the SEC. As we continue to transition from an undertalented b12 3-4 scheme we will only continue to improve on defense, getting bigger, more physical, deeper, and more disciplined...

Other teams in the sec are setup to stop the bilema style of offense... That's why I have trouble believing Arkansas will ever have a dominant offense, even in bielmas 3rd+ year... We've pretty much taken their best shot already... And we were the one team at a biggest disadvantage to compete.

This is his 2nd year.

Our first year in the SEC, John L. Smith coached Arkansas.

no, you're not. but it's okay to keep thinking this way, hawgs.

the problem with your coach/offense/philosophy is that you need to execute multiple 10+ play, 8+min drives for scores. since you don't have a deep threat other than breaking thru a goalline defense for a 50 yarder on 3rd & inches. so you have to execute a BUNCH of plays in a row w/o a mistake. no penalty, no TFL...every play has to work perfectly to get the 3.4 yards needed to sustain the drive. hell every BLOCK has to be perfect! one slip up and you're behind the chains and you can't recover.

and here you are with a 3 page diatribe/analysis of how if you JUUUUST executed a FEW more plays you'd TURN THE CORNER!!! HELL YOU MAY EVEN BEAT BAMA!!!!

the offense is flawed. the philosophy is flawed. you have to be able to recover from a TFL or a no-gain or a penalty SOMETIMES. but you can't. b/c every play is designed for 3.4 yards.

you guys played a NEAR PERFECT game and still lost. and your post is about how if you'd have played a PERFECT game you would have won. ok, I'll agree. except that you probably can't ever play a perfect game.

Near perfect game? Wow you just went full Aggie with that comment. And as far as not having a deep threat check the stats, arkansas has more td drives under 1 minute than anybody. Quit being an idiot homer and get some facts, then again, dont let facts get in the way of your sloppy dreams of what happened sarurday. The razorbacks gave that game away, you didnt win ****

That's funny. Looks like a W in the results column. "Gift" doesn't start with W.

Not claiming otherwise, aTm deserved that win, but to claim arkansas played a near perfect game while the aggies made all sorts of mistakes is just laughable

Absolutely and utterly false. However, if it makes you feel better about the loss then by all means keep telling yourself this was the case.

A&M flat out stole that game away from Arky, Arky by no means lost that game on their own. A&M got re-focused, caught fire and never looked back. THAT is what happened. It is easy to say your team imploded when the other team all of sudden surfaces after playing poorly.....but that doesn't make it true. The truth was that A&M nutted up and stopped Arky in the 4th and OT, and finally hit their stride offensively to score 21 straight points and TAKE the win away from Arky. This team is handed nothing, in case you have not seen any of the games coached by Sumlin here.

Sounds like one team ended up making adjustments and winning the game, the other didn't play call or execute their game plan well enough to win and ended up losing.

Nobody gave the game away, dipwad.

U do realize arkansas was a tripping penalty away from going up 35 to 14 in the 4th qtr right? Id say that was a big boneheaded mistake. I guess sumlin gets the credit for that as well
powerbiscuit

yeah, I bet that guy wishes he wouldn't have committed that stupid penalty

do you realize we dropped 2 or 3 balls, or just fell down, where we had you beat deep?

Was that drop by Kennedy in the 1st also the same play that worked in OT?

You mean the pass the Kenny badly threw. Yes it was the same. Kenny throws a good ball and it would be a TD.

Huge negative impact to the Ags from two dropped balls by Reynolds and the tumble instead of run by Holmes.

Please don't be so narrow minded to not see that the Aggies made plenty of uncharacteristic big mistakes that cost at least 14 points.

The single most important element of the game is that our D limited your offense in the 2nd half, especially the 4th and our O quit playing like SMU. Arkie didn't make any mistakes on 4th and 2 in OT - your OL just didn't move any Aggies away from where the back wanted to run. Hence the TFL and end of game.

And arkansas had 2 long td passes called back and another long run down to the 1 yard line called back. Sounds like a near perfect game to me

Besides one poster, no one is saying Arkie was near perfect. Both teams made plenty of mistakes, but the Aggies won, and not because the Pigs gifted them anything

[You seem to be lost. This isn't Hogville, and if you think you can throw that kind of smack talk around on this board, you are sadly mistaken. You'll get another chance--eventually. If you do choose to come back, keep in mind that you're a guest here. The substantive arguments are fine, but leave off the name calling--Staff]

I really enjoyed Bielema post game comments about how much more improved they will be when he plays us next year. The only problem coach is that WE will also be much improved also.

Revisionist history. Arkansas DID get called for a tripping penalty - one dirty play among a handful that weren't flagged on the Hogs. Arkansas still had a 2 TD lead after that play. How do explain the collapse now?

You're absolutely right. We were out played and out coached. You guys dominated us throughout most of the game. You should have easily won that game by at least 21 points. If it weren't for several blown calls by the refs and a few minor mistakes, the Ags would be staring into the brink of a 6-6 season.

But we still won.

How does that feel?

Getting back to the OP, the idiot Hog fan who purported to "break down" the box score, broke it down into a bunch of selective editing to try to spin his story. Besides the most important stat, the scoreboard, A&M lead in total yards 523-484, Akansas had a one first down edge (22-21), and penalties were pretty even (Arky was 8-76 while A&M was 9-70). The Hogs can try to spin it however they want, but statistically, the game was rather even. If they want to tell themselves they gave it away, so that they can sleep at night, fine, but you only have to go back to that sequence just before half, where A&M misses a makeable FG, then falls asleep on the Arkansas fake punt, the realize that A&M was just as close to not needing a comeback at all as Arkansas was to getting an insurmountable lead.
