If we keep winning?

I'll throw out a theoretical top 15 teams in consideration (Alphabetical Order)
Arizona State (11-2)
Auburn (10-2)
Baylor (10-2)
BYU (12-0)
Duke (12-1)
Florida State (13-0)
LSU (11-1)
Michigan State (12-1)
Missouri (12-1)
Notre Dame (11-1)
Oklahoma (12-0)
Oklahoma State (10-2)
Oregon (13-0)
Texas A&M (13-0)
Wisconsin (11-2)
In that case:
1 - Texas A&M
2 - Florida State
3 - Oregon
4 - Oklahoma
5 - Missouri
6 - Michigan State
7 - LSU
8 - Notre Dame
9 - Duke
10 - Auburn
11 - BYU
12 - Oklahoma State
13 - Wisconsin
14 - Baylor
15 - Arizona State
quote:No way. If we were to win at Auburn, at Alabama that resume would be better than anyone. They would rank #1 at that point
We wouldn't get any higher than 5th before October 18th unless at least two of FSU, Oregon, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Auburn lose.
A win at Alabama would jump us to 3rd at worst.
From then, it depends on where the playoff committee ranks us on October 28th. It would take a Florida State loss to Louisville or Notre Dame, at least one Notre Dame loss, and an Oregon loss to UCLA, Stanford, or Washington for us to be #1 before the playoffs start.

Purely theoretical question: When would we hit #1?

I just hope we can beat Arkansas first.
quote:Good point. We're going to lose a lot of games if TexAgs posters don't keep their head in this! One opponent at a time, guys!
The one sure way to make sure we never reach #1 is to start thinking about it....SMU...focus; Arkansas...focus...

I'll take "She is Spitting on You in an Elevator" for $600, Alex.

Hitting #1 matters only at the end of the season. When is irrelevant.
