another great stat:

this was Sumlin's 15th blowout win as the A&M head coach in 29 career games on the maroon-n-white sideline.

blowout = wins by 20 or more points

and that stat does not include the 2012 win over Sam Houston (47-28).

--------
a little perspective...

Sherman had 12 blowout wins in his 4 years. Fran had 11 blowout wins in his 5 years

When we win a national championship our fanbase will still complain about our play in the title game not being absolutely perfect.

That's not a bad thing. This team needs to be eager. Even if they win the natty, there will be things that could be done better that the returners are going to have to work on. It's not a bad problem to have!

Still thin on defense. Rice held ball 43 minutes.

Rice was not playing to win. They were playing not to get mud stomped. They waited until the last possible moment to snap the ball on every single play, running as much time as possible . Besides, who gives a damn about TOP anymore? That's a 1975 stat. It's meaningless now.

So much fail

Outgained by Rice.

Obviously i'm happy where we are, but we NEED to make improvements.

I agree, but you can't argue too hard about being outgained when you look at the final score.

I think their longer TOP wasn't them playing not to lose, it was just them trying to keep the ball out of Kenny and Co.'s hands.
