No the cop didn't do him a favor, he could've said break it up and made sure the two parties went separate ways.

Yeah because this would have worked.

You're naive as hell if you think two drunk college kids would listen to now you guys go separate ways.

I guess because his last name is Jones, he must have felt like he was supposed to keep up with....the other arrested players on the team!

I am so sick of this crap, there simply are no words. It is NOT hard to stay out of jail. All you have to do is be a halfway decent human being. And Im even more sick of the apologists who come on and act like its everyones fault but the players and we are being ridiculous for caring about it. Just imagine that all this were going on at some school not named TAMU and then imagine how it looks. The culture going on within this program is starting to stink like rotten garbage.

If these were horn players, TexAgs would be all over it. But since they are ours, it's the cop's fault.

In my opinion, and that's all it is, this coaching staff should call a team meeting and put the word out that the next run in with any police anywhere will result in dismissal from the team (I'm not talking traffic tickets here and will allow the HC judgement on a case by case basis). The law must be laid down and control must be re-established. The type of behavior and actions we have seen from several of these players shows disrespect to the Coaches, their Teammates, and the School itself.

I know Sumlin has said that programs are in place to cover this and other issues, but clearly the word has not gotten thru to some of these guys. Fortunately, the majority of the team have enough IQ to judge the situations and use their better sense to avoid being arrested.

Cops can not be offended by language according to Texas law, that means a person can not be arrested for "offending" the cop by language. This means that a regular citizen like you and I were offended by the language that RSJ was using and made a complaint to the PD. The PD responded to the complaint and took action. A warning or citation would have also been options but my guess is that RSJ kept acting like he could do what he wanted and did not stop the behavior and was arrested so the regular citizen could continue doing whatever they were doing in peace. There had to have been a victim here with the complaint other than the officer. I am sure some of you will make that person out to be a monster against the team. Stop blaming the COPS for others lack of personal responsibility. If you called the cops to take care of whatever happened and they did not do their job by stopping the illegal action then they aren't doing their job. The officer could be disciplined by the department for failure to do their duty. Stop blaming the COPS as if they have some agenda against the team or students. None of the past few arrest occur if RSJ keeps his mouth shut, Kenny doesn't get drunk and pass out in a flower bed and the other keep their mouth shut and don't carry week to the handicap parking spot. The COPS have a duty to uphold the law and protect the citizens not to look the other way when its a football player. I am sure they run into the players much more than we know about and release with warnings but those don't make the news. Not sure what it is going to take for some of the players to understand what they have to lose by making these choices. Just hope it doesn't become something that actually causes another person serious injury from a DWI or worse. Prayers for the coaches, players and students to keep clean and to be safe and watch our for one another.

If our players are being arrested for "coarse language" and not on suspicion of gangbanging young women against their will, it's a step in the right direction.

Each time one of our players gets arrested, I expect that it will be the last time that people on here make excuses for him, but each time I'm wrong. I'm sure anytime a player at LSU gets arrested, these same people blame the police.

Regardless of who you want to blame though, this is an alarming trend.

Now you are just making sh*t up.

I said last week Hill should have been arrested.

And never said RSJ wasn't responsible for his actions.

Unless there is more to the story than reported by KBTX, than I think it was a crappy arrest. I have seen police officers break up worse than this with no arrests. I would bet if it was two white kids, the police would have broke it up, make everyone move along and it would be over. I don't think it was prejudice against the football team, just fear and lack of patience, understanding with African American youth.

Cops are always arresting people, fining them and putting them into the system to "help them out" **** our stupid ***** law enforcement officers. Watched a video on reddit the other day of these Norwegian cops handling a dude that was drunk as skunk threatening them and everyone around them.

Guess what: those cops had ****ing brains and knew that if they played it cool, joked with the guy and kept it lighthearted that he would less troublesome. They literally just joke with him about arresting him for 3-4 minutes and then escorted him to their car.

Obviously this action isn't applicable in every scenario but it was just the fact that these police were actually intelligent and cognoscente of the situation at hand was absolutely shocking to me after all of my experiences with American police.

In America the guy would've been slammed into the ground by 6 cops for his "threats" (I wonder why he's resisting?), tazed, possibly shot, and then, assuming he's still alive, placed in jail. In short, a majority of American police officers are short-dicked, over zealous, power hungry, holier-than-thou sacks of limp dicks.

LSU players rape and assault. Most of our smoke pot and yell at cops.

A little bit of difference there, pal.

f*#k the cops in Texas, period. I have been routinely harassed for traffic stops to other very petty things (especially college station). They'll pull you over just to pull you over and then remind you that you're their little b*tch in the big picture because they have "authority" over you. They're tools and they never cease to amaze me.

Cops nowadays operate like there's no chance they're going to get killed by the guy they're harassing the following week. Shows like CSI have reinforced their pretentious/cowardly bravado.
