For years, Benjamin Knox has held a monopoly on artistic works in Aggieland. Although his still-lifes and landscapes are pretty good, his play-action paintings and depictions of people are, shall we say....lacking?

I have decided to step up and fill that void.

I have dabbled in drawing for most of my life, and I feel with A&M's emergence as a powerhouse in the SEC, it is time for the emergence of a new artist - one that can capture the pulse-quickening thrill of Aggie sports with just a few flicks of the pen.

I submit for your approval the first of my works. I call it "Passing into History" and it is my interpretation of the dynamic between Johnny Manziel and Mike Evans:












I will take requests if you have a moment in Aggie sports history you would like immortalized.

Why does Johnny's face look like it has a ball sack attached to it?

Did you train under Knox?

Evans would be taller, except he is all the way down the field in the end zone, therefore he appears smaller. It's a little thing called perspective that us artists utilize to bring a sense of reality and rawness to art.

I did not train under Knox, but have been studying his work.

I love it when we pass for 1 and a half yards

OK... here's the first request: packed Kyle Field at sunset before kickoff with bats flying around.

I drew my inspiration from the 2010 Nebraska game. Kyle was rockin' that night, and just as I captured in the picture, it was PACKED!

I attempted to create depth through shading and use of perspective- there's that word again! I think I was really able to embrace the ambiance that is Kyle as the sun sets over the Alumni side and the electricity...and bats.. that fill the air just before kickoff.
