I hope that hairstyle comes back around in time for my elderly years. I'd love to rock that look.

Czar Nicholas II and King George V

That's the Czar on the left ... I think ...

Yikes ...

Alec Baldwin & Millard Fillmore

Nicholas Cage and some guy in an old Civil War era photo

Creepy ...

"Personally, I believe it's him and that he is some sort of walking undead/vampire, et cetera, who quickens/reinvents himself once every 75 years or so," the seller -- who was asking $1 million for the photo -- wrote on eBay.

.

I'm aware of that. It's still a remarkable resemblance (particularly when you consider that George and Kaiser Wilhelm II were 1st cousins, too, but didn't look so much alike. There are several branches on my mom's side of the family in which there is no resemblance between 1st cousins in spite of the shared DNA).

From your link
quote:
Keanu Reeves and Paul Mounet
Has Keanu Reeves been taking style tips from the 19th century? Reeves' historical doppelganger, French actor Paul Mounet, who is pictured here in 1875, is an absolute dead ringer for the actor with that identical facial hair.

To me, Mounet looks more like Johhny Depp.

I agree, though he does have a longer jaw similar to Reeves

At left is Draza Mikhailovic, leader of the Serbian Chetniks during WWII; at right is musician John Lennon.

As far as I know, they aren't 1st cousins.

And on a related note:

5 insane cases of imposters passing for world leaders

quote:
Despotic rulers are apparently the number one employers in the doppelganger sector, what with their tendency to be both paranoid lunatics (who think everyone wants to kill them) and major ###holes (that everyone really does want to kill). Not every dictator double, however, gets to have as much fun as those starring in porn movies -- in fact some of them got a pretty #####y deal.

Take Felix Dadaev, one of Stalin's four doubles, who wasn't so much recruited into the job as kidnapped and sent off to shake hands with foreign dignitaries. Dadaev, who was only in his 20s at the time, was "discovered" after being wounded so badly during World War II that they actually declared him dead. Fortunately, he got better, but his resemblance to 60-year-old Stalin (which got him teased in school) caught the eye of Russian intelligence agents, who started using him to save the real Stalin from assassination plots and lame public ceremonies.

In the meantime, Dadaev was forbidden from contacting his family, who still believed him dead, and in fact waited until 2008 to tell anyone what he did. Why? He still feared that the KGB (or Stalin's ghost) might kill him.

Johnny Depp bears an unholy resemblance to the young Josef Stalin ... perhaps that should be his next project ...

Ummm... Who cares if that hairstyle comes back around?? During your elderly years (or sooner, for that matter) you should rock whatever look you want!

John Malkovich starring as Vladimir Lenin would be a casting agent's wet dream.

Good call ... I can just hear him saying:

"Of course, gentlemen, you have the right to publish this critique – but, then, gentlemen, be so kind as to allow us to line you up against the wall and shoot you!"

Now that we have Lenin and Stalin cast, what about Leon Trotsky?

How about Ben Schwartz as young Comrade Trotsky?

Ben Schwartz certainly looks the part. But don't you think they should at least allow fellow Marxist Sean Penn to read for the part?

...Moving on to more obscure Bolsheviks, John Torturro could easily portray the tragic figure Grigory Zinoviev:
