So... I have a major sinus infection. It's to the point where my ENT said I might need surgery. I'm going to Europe in five days and have to get better so I got the following:

A steroid shot (three days ago)
40mg daily of prednisone (took yesterday and today, in the morning)
Nasonex
Atripro

I am currently not hiccuping for about 36 hours straight. Is it the prednisone? I have zero relief in sight. It's driving me nuts. Anything at all to help I'd greatly appreciate. I think the prednisone is the culprit, and will stop taking tomorrow.

Thanks and Gig 'em

Had a friend who had the same thing after surgery, after multiple visits to different specialists, he went to an acupuncturist and with half an hour was asleep, no hiccups after 40+ hours of no sleep.

Yeah, go for the acupuncture, but only if you're unable to drain the evil humors from your body via bloodletting.

Hiccups are caused by irritability of the diaphragm, which occurs when your blood pH is too basic. Hiccups are relieved by increasing acidity and returning your blood pH to normal levels. So, drinking water will help by diluting the blood, sodas and pickle juice is better.

Must use nasonex everyday exactly as directed for it to work...sometimes it will take up to 5 days for full relief...astepro/asteline works decent but tastes terrible...using both together works well too...though id suggest fluticasone (flonase) and patanase

If u have any allergy meds questions, email me...im a drug rep thats sells for and against allergy meds to peds/ENTs/allergists
