You've got to give credit to all the safety enhancements over the years. To wreck at about 230mph and get up and walk away is incredible. Also, if you notice once he realizes car is gone, he lets go of wheel and tucks his hands into his chest to keep from ripping a wrist apart.

Best part of the video to me is how quickly he just gets his hands off the wheel and braces for impact. Good training and a lot of faith in the safety equipment.

Ed Carpenter became the 3rd driver to flip his car at Indy. This time it was during qualifying. All 3 cars have worn aero kits. Indy was forced to mandate all cars run race aero kits and normal race boost pressures.
