Have a friend that will be moving to Beaumont and is not familiar with the area other than the negatives. Surely there are some nice neighborhoods....anyone know? Schools not important. Looking for a safe place to live that you can walk and exercise.

Mid county. (Nederland/ Pt. Neches). Cant think of any good reason to live in bmt even if schools arent a consideration.

Yes, there are some perfectly fine (and some very nice) places to live in Beaumont. If you follow Gladys Avenue from Thomas Road to Major Dr, you will see quite a few good neighborhoods on both sides of Gladys. Basically, the west side of town is the target.

Best neighborhood hands down. houses ranging from 150k-1M depending on the street.

Beaumont has some nice neighborhoods, but I don't trust the city politics long term. Will be a Dem. city soon, and those all go to hell.

Try Nederland, Hamshire-Fannet, Lumberton, or Orangefield.
