I couldn't resist considering it's pretty much next door to me but it's been open since Monday and there was about a 30-40 min wait on a Thursday. Don't even want to see what it's like on a Friday or Saturday. Food came out rather quickly considering. About 15-20 after we ordered.

Abuelos is a big meh for me, can't wait to eat at Jack Ryans though. There was already a review up on Yelp the day it opened.

I used to love Abuelos, but the last few times I have been it has been mediocre at best. I'm not too excited about this one.

I am looking forward to Jack Ryans though. By default, it should be the best steakhouse in town.

I ate at an Abuelos in September in Abilene for the first time in 5 years, all the meat was way overcooked and dry.

I enjoyed the Chez Bazan group when we lived in Tyler. Good group of Aggies!

Not trying to be "that guy", but Willow Brook is still the king of steaks in this town.

At least for a steak not made in someone's backyard. As those are often better than many restaurants.

I know. Willow Brook is what everyone says. However, I don't count the country club as a restaurant.

Attempted Abuelo's today. Fifteen minute wait. Jicky don't play dat.

Went to Zoe's and had tomato bisque and tabuli salad. Place was bright, chairs were tall and comfortable, service was good. I'll be back.

15 minute wait? Sounds better than everywhere else in town. Guess the novelty of abuelos has worn off.
