A guy I went to HS with did one of these rides about a month ago in Houston, no idea if there was a message to it, just saw he did the ride.

oh god this sucks getting stuck at a light when all of them are riding by. problem is you will never know where they are until you see them

There isn't really a message to Critical Mass either, no matter what they say. It's just an excuse to get drunk, ride a bicycle and make a scene.

This is over 30 years old, set up by local bike shops and did NOT evolve from Critical Ass. NOT the same.
I've done it -wasted- at least 3 times. No neckbeard.

But seriously, the best way to deal with critical mass is to be more subtle: instead of plowing through them with a car, just spread tacks on the road when you see them coming. Watching a neckbeard peloton wreck itself is a hilarious sight.
