If I am going to the north side of Austin I do

I used to go see a client at IH 35 and Us 183 and it was way faster to take 290

Yeah, it depends what part of Austin you're going to. For Dowtown, 10 to 71 is easily the best answer. Not sure where you're leaving from Pam, but 290 and 610 is so screwed up right now I'd probably go 10 regardless.

71 is closed west of Bastrop. Take 21 south from Bastrop and 110 west to the toll road. You're welcome.

I drive back and forth each weekend and prefer 290. I-10 heading east, starting in Columbus can be bumper to bumper on a Sunday evening.
