Alright guys, I'm looking for some damn good breakfast tacos. Unfortunately for me, this is harder than it sounds in Houston.... Essentially, I'm looking for Chacho's, Los Cuco's, or Pappacitos tortillas mixed with the goodness of fresh eggs, bacon, barbacoa, or chorizo. Any suggestions?

Looking in Cypress area somewhere off 290... When I lived inside the loop, Sunrise tacquitos was the closest match.... Please help!!!

Additional reference...

Mario's has good fillings, but tortillas are Lacking. Los Cuco's has good tortillas but fillings are greasy and lacking...

Don't know about your area, but Kingwood Meat Market has great homemade breakfast tacos.

Tamale factory on Jones road. Tortillas aren't the best but pretty awesome anyway.

Sierra Madre Taco is excellent. Small, family owned, order at the counter, made in front of you, self-serve chips and homemade salsa. It's on Louetta @ Grant. They are closed on Sunday and all holidays.

There's this little place, but I think they have a couple locations spattered throughout town. I think there's one near you.

Taco Cabana

And you're way too picky on your breakfast tacos. It's friggin eggs and meat (the greasier the better so not sure why you're opposed to that) in a tortilla. Not hard to find good ones.

Come on man, this is Houston. Pretty much any greasy little family-owned Mexican joint will have killer breakfast tacos.

Will try some of the recommendations, thanks!

And obviously some haven't had an awesome breakfast taco. No its not too hard to screw up, but if you're tortilla is crap, the entire taco sucks imo

Taco cabana is actually not too bad...

Stripes Laredo Taco are great! But aren't there like 3 in Houston?

That's what I'm saying though, why can't a city as big as Houston make at least a good a taco as a Stripes gas station?... But yes, I will try out the serious recommendations given here (Rudy's is decent) and report back.

Go check out Balderas off of Jones near Cypress North Houston.
The tacos are really good but you also need to try their tamales.

Happy to see no mention of Whataburger here.

If this were the General Board, they'd be mentioned in the first 10 posts.

The tortilla is the key, everything else is pretty much the same.

The infatuation with tortillas is interesting.

Do yall not like a hamburger because of the bun? It's a fuggin tortilla! It doesn't even taste like anything. It's simply there to hold you're ish.

And I'm not even going to get into the fact the OP can't find a good breakfast taco in the 4th largest city in the world where Mezcuns are the majority AND there's a taco joint on every corner AND it's a city known for it's TexMex. But I digress...

I agree that the infatuation with tortillas is interesting, I will say a bad tortilla will ruin a taco. But I judge my tacos like I judge my women, the inside of the taco is what counts most.
