I have always appreciated CH 13 for keeping so many of these Houston TV icons on. It is a bit of stability to see folks on TV you damn near grew up with. Good luck Don ! It has been a great ride

I remember coming home afterschool as a kid to watch the Million Dollar Movie on ch 13 and Don was the host and would do Dialing for dollars during the commercial breaks

Dave Ward, Bob Allen and Ed Brandon were a staple on the evening Eyewitness News for thirty years.

I liked Bob Boudreaux. He still offers some pretty hot opinions on things sports and otherwise on his Facebook page.

He was the 5pm and weekend lead anchor from 1978-2002

I remember back in 4th or 5th grade, a few kids from my school got to go to a taping at KTRK of some dumb Saturday morning program where they asked kids what they thought about current events or whatever. The highlight of the day, though, was meeting Don Nelson. We all thought he was hilarious. Really seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

Ch 13 has been losing market share after completely dominating at 6/10 for decades. That explains the "loyalty". Kudos to Don Nelson et al for setting the bar a hell of a long time. Last TV link to my childhood.

He sat next to me at a Texans game once. Full of beer and hot opinions about Kubiak. Pretty funny, though not everyone in our group was amused.

Used to go to the Channel 13 tent every year. I'm a tall dude and Don Nelson just dwarfed me. He's a large man. And very nice.
