Yeah its been on the outs for awhile. I'm surprised they held on this long. They've been wanting to demo that for awhile.

Lol! Yeah 10 and the beltway is a pretty scary place. If you're not careful you might run into some city centre ruffians.

That place was a real gem for late night fun with all classes of people. It will be sorely missed. I'm still hoping it will move to a new spot.

Sucks they are closing but they will no doubt pop up again somewhere.

They used to (a long time ago) be at Lantern Lane near the Pilgrim Cleaners at Memorial and Benignus. If you look at the group photos by the bathrooms you will see one that was taken there.

on a semi-related note, the 3 T&C office towers across the street have been sold. i'm told they were bought by the City Centre people, but not 100% sure on that. so they won't be there much longer either...

While we were giving it a fond farewell one of the bartenders told me that he and a few others were trying to buy the recently closed Britmore icehouse and call it the burlap. Dunno if that ever got traction though.

HAHA - yeah my back up plan last night was BIH. Got there and the marquee said closed. Really sucks to have lost both of those places.

Went to Shakespeare's instead.

That would be fantastic if burlap bought that BIH spot. We were joking last night about opening a new bar and calling it the brittmoore barrel ice house or something.

Pretty quality low-key dive. Had some Karbach on tap (more than I could say for BIH). Full bar. Blues music playing. Some band came on around 10:30 and played some old blues music. Old lady singer with a keytar. We mostly hung out on the patio that overlooks the Kolache Factory parking lot.
