Depends on who they hire to run the place. People in Porter, New Caney, and Splendora dont like take kindly to that kind....

Did you post this exact same thing on a community message board?

If there had not been the earthquest fiasco, what would you be doing differently?

I think the problem that Astroworld ran into was that people figured out pretty quickly that you could use it as daycare for the summer for $49.95...

I might be more likely to believe it would happen and I guess fiasco must not be a term used very often.

That may be why they are building it so far from public transportation.

Like everything else in Houston, Astroworld was great for 15-20 years until the area was overrun with low rent apartments.

New Caney isn't exactly a high dollar neighborhood, it's just not densley developed. Nearby Humble is no gem either. My guess is that the area will get run down pretty quickly.

As somebody who grew up in Splendora, I can say your assumption is correct.

Haven't been to an amusement/theme park in years. And if this happens, will people stop going to Kemah, and its overpriced rides?

Six Flags over Texas or Fiesta Texas. How are the crowds there? By the time Astroworld was declining, you could tell the park wasn't really trying anymore, and it had lax security. Too many kids running around, and I remember some fights happening over girls.

Haven't been to Fiesta Texas or Six Flags in years, but I went to a kids birthday party at Splashtown a few years ago and there was an oil slick on the surface.

Whatever happened to that EarthQuest project? Seemed to be a lot of hype and one day it just...stopped.

Seemed unfeasible in the first place.

Someone I know who lives there told me the feds got involved. They took advantage of funds for "studies" on other theme parks across the country.

The land earth quest was supposed to be on has been sold. This is a new area north of the earth quest property.

What? Little House on the Prairie with roller coasters isn't a well thought out viable theme park in this era?

I represent one of the investment groups in this matter. All I can say is that it is very real; not a pipe-dream like EarthQuest, Disney, etc. projects that have floated around for years.
