Took a trip the Lake Chuck for my brother's bachelor party. Got to our fishing lodge on Friday afternoon on Lake Calcasieu. Caught our limit on Redfish on both boats the next morning. Then went to L'Auberge last night and walked out up $4,200 on blackjack & 3 card poker.

Place was absolutely swarming with cougars. Solid weekend!

Prices went up about 2 weeks ago for some reason.

When we went it was $60/person for the lodge and boats were $550 for 3 people & $700 for 4 people.

Now its posted as $75/person - $575 & $750

Our guide was Jake. He was hilarious. Great entertainer for a bachelor party type crowd.

We stayed at the lodge on Friday night and the casino on Saturday night. Did not go to the casino on Friday.

I went to L'auberge on friday night and had the opposite results. I lost over $300 on blackjack and craps.

My brother went to Lake Charles a few weeks ago for a buddy's bachelor party. So much fun was had that the bachelor had to be carried to the car in a wheelchair on Sun. morning.

Whoa...crazy! My friends and I are literally doing the exact same thing for my bachelor party in April. Same lodge and then on to the casino.

Fishing should be even better in April. Trout should be in by then.

I'm at my fantasy draft and we're all telling stories about the old times. Pulled up this old thread b/c we were thinking about planning a guys trip.

WTF happened to my life. I'm now 31, married, and have a 5 month old son.

At the time of this OP (2010), I was 26, unmarried, no kid, living in an apartment at Montrose/W. Dallas, and only concerned about chasing cougars in a casino and bragging about it to TexAgs.

I'd give my left nut to be 31 with just a 5 month old.

We've stayed at that lodge before. We opted for the open bar and they served dinner. Was a great time. I'd recommend it.

Yeah, it's called being married with kids!
