(two-year anniversary and parents of 10-month old staying w grandma, so id settle for a nice quiet dinner and a nap)

So much to choose from. So little to eat. Actually...I don't know what that means, but I'm fresh out of ideas. Help?

Should've been more specific. Genre: new-fangled American-ish, Italian or Greek/M.E. food

Price: "$$" to "$$$"

Fearings, FT33, and Hatties are all good. Neighborhood Services is good, too, but often loud. Recently, I have had several great meals at Montlake Cut in Preston Center.

Not a big Stephen Pyles fan.

I have had two amazing meals at Gemma's (on Henderson).

The Grape - Great refined food and small intimate atmosphere.
FT33 - Spectacular unique food with open kitchen and nice atmosphere.
Gemmas - Haven't personally been, but atmosphere looks great and people I trust have vouched for the food.
Boulevardier - Small intimate atmosphere with solid food.
Casa Rubia - Decent atmosphere but fantastic latin fusion tapas if you want to try a lot of different dishes.
Victor Tangos - Fun atmosphere in Uptown with great tapas style plates as well.

We recently had an excellent dinner at Joyce and Gigi's, but it's South American food which wasn't on your list. Still, I'd recommend it if the type of food your looking for changes.

If you're set on new-American, Proof + Pantry is a good choice as well. I'll second CBD Provisions, too.

If you're looking to enjoy your evening after dinner, I'd steer clear of Stampede 66. The food is great, as is the atmosphere, but you're going to feel like a nap afterwards.

And, if you've never been to Neighborhood Services on Lovers, that and excellent, excellent place. Plus you can go to the Time Out Tavern or the Inwood Theater Bar afterwards.

I like Neighborhood Services on Lovers, but it is probably too loud and too long of a wait (in my opinion) to be considered a "hot date restaurant".

(Btw, we are probably neighbors.)

't's been mentioned before but here's a great date idea:

Hibiscus or The Porch on Henderson, then head down to Old Monk for some drinks, then Velvet Taco for the 2 am fourthmeal.

Also, Dinner at Rapscallion and drinks at HG Sply Co on (lowest) Greenville. Then Velvet Taco for fourthmeal.

Just for reference, Hibiscus is closed now. They went a little downhill ever since Graham Dodds left to open his new restaurant Wayward Sons. When Graham was there, the food was creative, fresh, and well executed, but after him it became a little boring and average unfortunately.

I would choose Victor Tango's or Mesero on Henderson for dinner.

When did it close? I went just a few weeks ago and I agree it wasn't as special as I had remembered. Sad that it took such a turn.

Edit: Looks like on 9/23. Bummer.

Yeah it was very recent. Definitely sad though because we had a couple of our favorite meals in DFW there when Chef Dodds was still around, and I don't like his new restaurant as much as what he was doing at Hibisucs either unfortunately.
