About Grant Birdwell:
While serving as a key member of the investment team that managed the Teachers Retirement System of Texas $130 billion portfolio$6.5 billion of which he personally responsible forGrant sharpened his in-the-trenches understanding of the investment world. He has developed and contributed to innovations in the Strategic Partner Network that many view as the gold standard among large institutional investors around the world. In partnership with some of the top minds from within a global strategic partner network, he also helped equip the internal TRS investment staff through knowledge transfer by directing strategic research efforts across a variety of public and private investment and risk management topics. Grant's passion to redirect from the inherent limitations of investment management practices that follow the herd is powered by a personal mission to guide clients into a greater sense of what's possible. Prior to his time at TRS, Grant spent nearly a decade at Morgan Stanley, split between the Fixed Income Division and their Institutional Advisory Group. Grant graduated from Texas A&M in 2000 with a degree in finance and lives with his wife (also an Aggie) and two sons in Dripping Springs, Texas.
