The signature area of Aggieland is an embarrassing dump that smells. Shocked that city officials, visitors bureau, or whoever can't take charge of this major black eye and update the entire area. Get rid of dilapidated buildings, the smell of sewage, garbage strewn all over, etc. And while they are at it maybe they can convince The Chicken owners to upgrade their filthy, smelly restrooms.
I've had visitors ask if the area ever gets cleaned.

I didn't say there was no smell. I said the smell drama clearly wasn't a problem considering the massive crowds.

I've had visitors ask if the area ever gets cleaned.
I'm curious as to what you consider "dilipidated buildings". Nearly every building on the main stretch has been rehabilitated to some degree despite their age. The only thing that really comes to mind is the former bicycle shop which has steps up to their building (making it hard for bicycles and wheelchairs to pass). What did you have in mind?

The Dixie Chicken. Don't think it has ever been updated. Looks like a strong wind would blow the whole place down. Restrooms smell a block away.

honestly, this whole thread cracks me up. I probably eat lunch at Northgate about once every 4-6 weeks I'd guess, and I have never noticed a smell. I'll have to make a special point next time to check out the million dollar bathroom and see if it really is nasty or not.

The Chicken does have an issue with being very dilapidated and dirty on the inside. Most people don't notice because it's dark, they're drunk, etc. It'd be nice to see the Northgate property owners come in and update the older buildings, similar to what the Dallis family did with the old Flying Tomato/Fitzwilly's building.

The Dixie Chicken is a dump. Can anyone please advise the date of the last upgrade? Probably never. And, yes, the restrooms smell worse than ANY bar I have ever frequented. If you are drunk you will not notice.
The place reeks, inside and out.
Astro-Are you a business owner in Northgate? Because you are trying awfully hard to depict this dumpy area as semi classy,
