I think it was about a year ago I posted about an issue with the apartment behind mine flooding with sewage.
It's happening again. My front door area is flooded with sewage from the broken clean out at 506 First street.

It's almost like instead of fixing what's clogging the pipe, they just break the plug on the clean out and let it flow.

Could one of y'all please get a rush on this?thanks again for helping.

Maybe KBTX will make this their lead story!!!

Seriously, good luck. Sounds gross.

It is.
And this isn't the first time.
When I saw water flowing past my porch I knew it was happening again.

Yup.

I just know last time I called the number listed nothing happened.
I'm hoping as this is not the first time the city will make the property owner actually do something and not just stick a cap back on the clean-out.
I don't know if someone is breaking it on purpose because it's backing into their apartment, or if the lawn crew keeps hitting the cap, but that it keeps backing up like that means there is a problem in the line that needs to be fixed. I know it's not the city's to fix, but they know who the property owner is and can get them to do something (other than spread disease and smell).

Folks:

City Council meetings are going on right now and Dave "waterworks" Coleman just finished a presentation. Because he was unable to log-in from his phone, he asked me to pass along that he's alerting a crew ASAP.

UPDATE: Crews are already on the scene, but more are on the way.

Thank y'all.
While I may not agree with some of the rules, regulations, or stop light timings here, the staff and employees are always on top of things and do good work.

Thank again for everyone's good work.
Here's hoping this can get finally fixed correctly.

Getting back home about 8:15 I found the line still with plug out and raw sewage flowing into the storm sewer/ drainage ditch.

Not trying to out anyone or be contrary, just posting an update.

Hmmm, well there was that one resident that went to the media regarding their AC unit and it got some airtime. Isn't this a code violation or something?

Shouldn't this be a major health concern? You have p+ss, **** and bacteria flowing all over the place.

Scruffy - I checked and a crew was sent out that night and it was found to be a customer problem (which you indicated here). If the property owner doesn't fix the problem, there are additional steps that can be taken. Please send an email to the address in my profile and I'll put you in contact with the right people.

IIRC, that entire area is slated to be demolished to make way for upscale apartments. Might be why the property owner is neglecting maintenance.

Seems to have been repaired as over the weekend there hasn't been anymore flooding.
I appreciate the quick response from the city and them informing the property owner.

If it happens again I'll shoot you an email.

Thank goodness. This area is in dire need of upscale apartments.

And not just this area. Hopefully BCS will be getting rid of its problem slums soon.
