Out on the back porch of a buddy of mine's house and heard what was not a gunshot. Sounded like a small explosion and shook the house. Anyone in the area hear it and/or know what it was?

Sure did. Me and the wife stopped what we were doing and went outside bc it shook our house too. Haven't heard or seen anything about it though.

I think it came from the direction of Deer Creek, always a lot of big guns in late afternoon.
