Does anyone have information about this new place going in near the Taco Casa located in south College Station...doesn't look like a chain from what I could tell...When is it expected to open?

Mrs. Duff thought someone could open a Brazos River-themed eatery/bar and call it 'Bottom Feeders'. I suggested to her that the name might have unintended consequences in terms of the clientele.
It was either that or Tilapia's.

Yes. I recently talked to the owners.
Great people. It's basically a sports theme bar. Basic food with some mexican food thrown in. Full bar and will have about 20 beers on tap. I'm excited to try it out

For those who know the owner, any idea on an opening date? I'll be happy to support a sports bar in the area.
Owner listed on TABC permit is Steve Carpio from Bryan. License is active so they can sell booze as soon as buildout is done. I'm looking forward to a sports bar on the south side.

Why is that name familiar? What did he do for a living before? I want to say it was sports related but can't remember.
Yes, it is Steve Carpio. I tested out a few menu items at his house recently and they were good! Should be opened sometime during the summer.
I believe he did some sort of sporting goods and little league uniforms years back.
Spoke with him this weekend, and he said towards the end of the summer
just get it opened before football season!

I've been by twice in the past 2 weeks and it appears work has ceased.
Well, at least we didn't all go there, love it, and then it closed.
It's still summer. Give it time. Everything is slower this time of year.

Business doesn't have a summer break. Maybe it's on schedule, but doesn't look like it.

Sounds like they still plan on opening this fall.
