How long do you want to ignore this user?
Hi, I would like to build a casita/guest house (600-800 sqft) sometime in the next few years. Does anyone know if any subdivisions, preferably in south college station, allow home owners to build these type of units on their property?

There are several houses in Quail Run that have mother-in-law type cottages in their back yards.

One of the HUGE pluses of QR is that it is NOT in the city limits. Pretty free to do as you please. There are some setbacks and never enforced deed restrictions but none of those are legal or valid anymore since they have not been enforced in almost 30 years.
Property in QR has exploded with homes selling on the very day they are listed for above asking price. There are some great deals out there, especially if you want to tear down or gut and remodel.

We have a casita in Saddle Creek. It was already there when we bought the house; we did not build it.

It's not against the deed restrictions, but you would have to apply for approval from the architectural control committee if you wanted to build one.
