Been seeing a doctor here in town for a sport injury. He's not 100% sure what's wrong, but he wants to cut into one of my tendons and remove the bursa.

Anyway, I would like a second opinion before I go under the knife. You guys always have good recs, so let 'em roll!

EDIT: Knee injury.

Which body part? The referral can be specific.

Good point. It's the knee. Updated my original post too.

I would try Dr. Rajpreet Singh, who is a rheumatologist. She cured my right shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) and left hip (bursitis) with a couple of well-placed injections each, about one year apart. Haven't had to see her in about four years now.

Dr Iero
He has treated me for my knee. He is very personable and takes the time to explain everything so that you understand. He will also tell you if you should hold off on surgery or if you should get it right away

I will second this notion. Dr Singh and Dr Pocurull are both terrific (in their own ways).

They are also my wife's rheumatologist and pocorule is the one that deals with her bursa issues.

Does JP Bramhall see patients in College Station. He is the team doctor for the Aggies.

Yes. My son torn the labrums in both of his shoulders, each a year apart. Had surgery here in Memphis during Christmas break, and Dr. Bramhall oversaw his recovery in College Station. Most recently this January. Good doctor.

Iero FTW. Their group has been my local go to for all things ortho. And there have been many.

I've used Bramhall for multiple surgeries over the last 12 years and he's been great. Now they're in their brand new state of the art facility. It should also be noted that they have physical therapy on site as well and Michael Joseph is top notch.

Who would you say is a specialist at hip or tailbone injuries? I've seen one and I need a second opinion.

I guess that's basically a spine injury so I would go to Dr Gundanna at Brazos Spine Institute (in Longmire Aerofit building).

Gundanna is a Ortho Spine guy. Hip and tailbone are not spine. He won't be interested. Hip is a regular Ortho. Tailbone is probably them too, although not much to do for tailbones outside time, rest and maybe a injection.

Well then I would go to Solcher, with Bramhall now.

Wow. Is your son an OL? Because this is our story, except for location (surgeries in Indianapolis). And Bramhall did see him after the 2nd surgery. Bramhall did fix a stress fracture in his foot after his senior year of HS. Bramhall is absolutely the best.
