This is not an engineer recommendation.

BUT we have had two terrific experiences with Anchor Foundation. The first was probably 8 years ago. Mr. Tripp came and looked at what we thought was a foundation issue and set us on the right path, toward an above-slab issue and solution. In other words, did not sell us what wouldn't fix our problem.

The second was last summer. The new owner, Mr. Tripp the younger, helped us with a foundation problem on an addition. The work was done promptly and cleaned up well. His crew spent half a day determining that part of the problem suspected did not exist and we were not charged for that.

Overall, both men were upfront and cooperative.

The Tripps with Anchor Foundation and Walt Childers with Brazos Valley Solutions will both come out and give free estimates (including shooting measurements with their liquid level system.) That might be a place to start before bringing in the (expensive) engineer.

Gessner Engineering is the only structural engineer I've used in BCS.

If you are going to spend more than $5000 on this, hire a structural engineer and not just a foundation repair technician. It will probably save you money, but will definitely make sure you get a repair that will last.
