Anywhere in downtown Bryan.
Remnant of Nawlins at Holleman and Welsh. It's take out only but it's delicious, authentic New Orleans cooking.
I've lived here several years and never tried the Readfield's lunch menu. Thanks for sharing, Halibut.
Buppy's All You Can Eat buffet. Different menu everyday.
Not away from campus, but Mad Taco might be the best restaurant in town bang/buck

Top of the Hill out in Benchley. Hard to beat their burgers.

Tried Martin BBQ on S College for the first time this week. Cant believe I've been overlooking that all this time. You can eat for a lot or a little, depending on your order. Just be prepared for a 3rd generation mom and pop spot.

Had Mi Pueblito's bistec ranchero lunch special today. Real good, reasonably priced.

Bryan has some pretty good places to eat. Nothing beats the Longhorn for great home cooked meals.
Highway 6 and 21 McDernalds, best fries of all the McDernalds, and I have done a spot check (as of yesterday).

I am a huge fan of Maddens for lunch.
Maybe the OP could clarify what "best" means, as there seems to be quite a lot of variation here as to what that means...
I was really just looking for some new ideas of places to have lunch at. I'll figure out for myself which one is the "best" once I try them all out, HAHA.

Not too keen on papa perez... Only been there once but didn't like what I ordered. Neither did my girlfriend. The general consensus is that it was just okay.
Having said that, lots of people like them so maybe I caught them on a bad day.

Does Yesterday's still have their lunch deal? Sandwich, chips, drink and hour of pool? Back in the day it was like $4.95 & an awesome deal. The turkey sandwich was very good.

Now THAT is definitely away from campus.
Mad Taco is pretty great and a bit away from campus, super casual and decent bar selection. Madden's is good in bryan and a bit gourmet. CJ or Kreuz are both pretty good bbq. Grubb is great for burgers and spiked shakes.

Well, I will say that we had a party of 34 people, and they took our order, fed us, and we were all done eating in 45 minutes. And it was tasty. I was impressed by that. Most places in this town take over an hour if you have 4 people.
