One of my neighbors in Sonoma just let me know that their house was broken into this morning.

The backdoor was kicked in, and 2 rifles and an iPad were stolen. This happened in broad daylight sometime this morning. My neighbor usually works from home, and said he was only gone for about 30 minutes when it happened.

Just a heads up to those in Sonoma & surrounding neighborhoods.

Although it won't prevent a burglary, I think all homeowners should install a surveillance system to at least try and capture evidence. If you are home it would allow you to monitor who is at the door as well. I put two cameras in so far and think it will be well worth the investment

Good HD security cameras are not very expensive. Can be wireless or hard-wired. Order on the internet or have a local security compnay install. Can act as a deterrant but, even if they don't, at least you are able to ID the scum.
