Barker's might have sold me a oversized unit and I was wondering what hvac contractors take the time to calculate loads properly

C&S does a great job!
don't feel bad. Malek sold me an undersized system and it won't properly cool our house so I'd rather the oversized unit at this point. it would be more efficient and save in the long run. our system runs and runs and doesn't get to the desired temp in hot weather.
actually I disagree with you, an oversized unit cost more and dosent remove humidity as well so I would rather be undersized or better properly sized

You posted you had a 3 ton before it was replaced in the other thread.
Why did they say you needed a 3.5 ton ?
What are your ceiling heights and is there at least r30 in the ceiling joists for insulation ?

I think that r30 with r-11 wall insulation and 8 foot ceilling
