In the world of higher education, those with advanced degrees and longtime campus experience in all ways of academe know that when a university or college hires a new President (these days considered akin to a CEO, when in fact, they're not), changes will happen in the administration of the various divisions of any university.

So let's get rid of a man who had probably done more and brought in more dollars to the university and community than anyone in recent history. He was instrumental with his connections in A&M's awards of the BARDA and NCTM contracts and grant dollars. Those were instrumental in the uptick in development in the biocorridor.

It's sad that politics rule the day vs merits, even in academia, where merits should be celebrated. A&M has lost a truly great asset to the system and to our community, all because some schmuck had an issue.
