Southeastern part of Brazos County so BCS is not included.

Code Maroon just hit my phone "Tornado Warning South College Station seek shelter". Wonder if this is the same warning or another twister.

Peach Creek is my area, well near Lick Creek. Lots of lightning and 0.5" so far.

Rotation indicated in Milican area as of 6:37. Well south of CS proper. Moving NE; will be in Shiro area around 7p. Warning to expire at 7p if not extended.

Nothing confirmed as a touchdown.

Have tornado warnings changed? Seems it used to be "on the ground" triggered the warning. Is it just funnel clouds / circulation that triggers it now?

Radar indicated rotation will usually trigger a warning.

I was just thinking the same thing. A warning used to mean one was spotted...now they issue Tornado Warnings when a storm is capable of producing a tornado.

In heavy downpours like this, it's nearly impossible to confirm a touch-down, so meteorologists can only go off what radar tells them - rotation - temp. differentials.

Odd that nothing was warned etc. a couple of wks ago when the funnel cloud was sighted W of
Wellborn. Shel and KBTX were on top of it..kuddos.

New tornado warning for the Brenham area now. I wonder how many tornados there have been in Texas today?

Too bad all of the online scanner feeds are down.

Thanks for the information. I'm grateful for the technology. I'd rather have the warning when conditions are close to materializing than when it's on the ground.
