I could not find a recent thread on this topic.

We are moving overseas for one year and will be renting our house unfurnished. We need to empty our house and move our stuff to storage. I have never used this type of service before and would appreciate any recommendations of reputable places, what options to look for (does it need to be climatized?), insurance required, what items should I avoid moving to storage, etc.

i would definitely get climatized. You might want to ask your insurance agent what they recommend to store or not store.
