Looking for a good one-night/day trip mid-week to steal some time with my spouse. Any good ideas that are close in distance but still a good 'get-a-way'?

I've enjoyed a few nights at the 7F Lodge. It is literally 5 minutes from my house, but it made me feel like I was a world away.

Hyatt Lost Pines near Bastrop is nice.

If you want to rough it, rent a cabin at Inks Lake, then explore the Longhorn Caverns.

Boerne and Fredericksburg B&Bs are about 3 hours or so, depending.

In the opposite direction, Jefferson and Marshall are nice for east Texas. You can always swing through Canton if you like flea markets. A little farther east, Natchitoches La. is only about 5 hours away.

I don't think driving 10 hrs and sleeping for 9 hr is what the OP has in mind for a 30-36 hrs one night getaway!

Yes, I would rather spend the limited time away at the destination rather than in the car commuting.
Thank you for your suggestions. Looking into a few of them.

I feel like that's the closest the guy on the left has ever been a girl.

If you are looking for an extremely close to home getaway, book a room at the LaSalle in downtown Bryan during the next First Friday.

We really like Brenham. Hit a winery and have lunch at Funky Art Cafe.

Loved the time at Hyatt Lost Pines! Now is a pretty good time to go too. Mostly just conventions and weddings going on now. Summertime gets very crazy. Junior Executive Suite is a very nice upgrade with plenty of room.

I checked for a month from now. What do I get for $1,200 a night?
