Some these you have addressed such as contact info.

These are action items, resources, contact information to help recovering missing dogs. They have been proven helpful more than a few times.

http://texags.com/main/forum.reply.asp?topic_id=1222021&forum_id=35&page=&opt=post

Please post contact information in thread or in you profile noting it is available. To my knowledge that has not been an issue for folks on this board.

If needed email photo to eyesmellratz@yahoo.com, she will post for you here.

Check shelters daily, personally visiting all holding areas.

This is another excellent resource: BrazosLostAndFoundPets@gmail.com
She has good connections between multiple networks. Her facebook page ishttp://www.facebook.com/BrazosLostAndFoundPets

Contact microchip registry and make certain they have current contact info and notify them pet is on the loose.

Watch this thread for updates from others. There are some folks who will post and not call or email.

Suggest putting a sign in front of house and where pet was last seen right away with a photo of dog and contact information.

This is another heighten awareness tactic, Intersection Alerts, http://www.missingpetpartnership.org/recovery-tips/intersection-alerts/

Also, when checking Craigslist Check at least 7 sections on CRAIGSLIST!
People will post about pets on several of the Craigslist sections. Oftentimes it is because someone finds a pet and after a few days, weeks, or even months decides they cannot find the owner and cannot keep the pet. They will give them away for free or sell them. Sometimes people try to breed them. Check these sections on Craigslist regularly:
Community: Lost and Found, Pets, General
For Sale: Free, General
Services: Pet
Check areas surrounding College Station too, such as Houston, deep east TX. Found pets offered for sale or free in all of these sections!! Be aware that people also will not necessarily state that the pet is found, so keep your search broad.

Be aggressive. The harder you work, the luckier you are.

Walt,

If you have a Facebook page, you should post your lost German Shepard on Brazos Valley Lost and Found, it has had very good results in getting lost dogs back home.
