I just got an Emergency phone call that the CSPD were looking for a man wearing all camouflage and not to open my door. It was automated but it kind freaked me out. Anyone else get this? I live in Shenandoah.
quote:oops... meant to edit my previous post and quoted it instead.
Said it was related to an accident at Barron and 6... some guy ran from it and tried to steal a car from a woman on Windfree.
quote:Great. About two blocks from my house. That makes me feel good.

Interesting morning in our quiet neighborhood for sure, but impressed with CSPD and TAMU PD for their response and their dedication to keeping our kids safe as the school morning started.

What is TAMU's involvement?

January 20, 2015 - News: Evading Arrest
Case #15-000615
On Tuesday January 20, 2015 at approximately 0450 hrs, officers with the
College Station Police Department responded to the 1100 blk of William D Fitch
Parkway in regards to a possible intoxicated driver. The reporting person, an
off duty Brazos County Sheriff's Office Sergeant, reported seeing a male passed
out in a vehicle in the parking lot at that location.
Upon arrival at the scene, CSPD officers made contact with the male and began
to investigate his condition. Shortly after beginning to speak to him, the male
abruptly fled in the vehicle and headed northbound on the east feeder road and
then onto State Highway 6 with officers in pursuit. As the vehicle was on the
Barron Road overpass the suspect veered to the right, struck the barrier, and
then veered to the left and struck the barrier separating northbound from
southbound traffic. As the vehicle slowed, the suspect exited and fled on foot
across southbound traffic. When the suspect got to the edge of the overpass he
dropped approximately 25 feet to the ground and continued to flee on foot into
the Shenandoah subdivision.
The vehicle that the suspect had fled in then crossed back across lanes of
traffic and struck the outside barrier again and came to rest blocking
northbound traffic. CSPD units with overhead lights were used to block
northbound traffic while officers pursued on foot. While this was occurring, a
2010 Chevrolet SUV was northbound approaching the scene and began to slow. A
2000 International 18 wheeler and trailer was approaching from behind and was
unable to stop before striking the SUV. The driver of the SUV, a 61 year old
College Station female, reported a complaint of pain. The driver of the 18
wheeler, a 58 year old Lancaster male, reported no injuries.
With assistance from the Texas A&M University Police and Brazo s County
Sheriff's Office, officers began to search the area looking for the suspect. At
approximately 0540 hrs a resident in the subdivision reported that a male had
attempted enter her residence saying that he needed help. At that time Brazos
County Emergency Communications District assisted by providing a reverse 911
notification to the area urging residents to use caution and advising them of
the ongoing incident.
At approximately 0715 hrs a resident in the 3900 blk of Windfree reported that
a male had forced his way into her residence but she was able to force him back
out and secure her door. The male then went to the residence next door to this
location and attempted to enter that home at which time he was located by
officers and taken into custody.
