my son wants to take drum lessons. he plays sports in school so it's hard for him to be in the school band. looking for private lessons. any recs?

Call the high schools and ask the band directors for contact info on their drum techs. They are usually college-aged music majors and/or former high school percussion players.
The String and Horn shop in downtown Bryan would probably know some drum teachers, also.

My son took lessons from Geoff Zercher. Not sure if he's still giving them but we took for a year and highly reccommend
Guitar Center does drum lessons as well, might stop by there and check them out.
Just to clarify, A&M doesn't have a music major.

Thanks kraut. never thought about Guitar center for drum lessons. also found Lippman Music here in town for lessons.
I also recommend Geoff Zurcher. His studio is at Thorne Music. My 7 year old has been taking lessons for a year and a half. He has evening appointments until about 9 I think. We go at 5pm.
