Have a jar of coins. Are there any of those coin counting machines in the area that I can use and it gives me my money in bills? Preferably one with low fees...

HEB @ Holleman has one that gives gift cards with NO fee.

We choose the Lowe's / HD card because we know it will get used.

Kroger does. No idea what the fee is, though.

Your bank will most likely do for free. prosperity does it for me for free.

Sadly I don't bank in the area since I get better interest rates elsewhere. I have a Wells Fargo credit card but that's it.

Rhoswen: do you know which Kroger?

Most every grocery store in town has a Coinstar machine. I know the HEB in Tower Point and the Kroger at Rock Prairie each do.

Look for the big green machine usually by the ATM.

Rock prairie did around 2 years ago. I'm pretty sure Boonville does too but the memory gets fuzzy.

The Wells Fargo on SW Pkwy has a machine. It prints out a ticket that you take to a teller for cash. I don't remember there being a fee, but I also have accounts with them.

Brenham national has one. Where do you get "higher interest rates out of town" I get 1% up to 25k and free ATM anywhere I have checked all over the country and can't find a better deal

Non account holders can use the Prosperity bank counter, but they take a small fee. If you have an account, there's no fee, which is nice!

I would trust a bank's machine. I wouldn't trust a Coinstar machine. I've seen too many news reports about Coinstar machines shorting the people that use them.

Coinstar is 9 - 10 cents per dollar.

Don't know of too many banks that have a coin counter. Odd...

Prosperity at Texas/Villa Maria has one. Customers free . . .I believe there's a small fee if you don't have an account. Self service.

Try the Wells Fargo on Northgate. They have a coinstar type machine that you use and then take a receipt to the teller. No fee for you, especially since you have a WF CC card.
