Would prefer a Dr in College Station that listens to what his patients have to say. I am having to switch after seeing the same Dr for about 14 years.

Evidently with St. Joseph getting bought out, their new parent company doesn't take Scott & White insurance, so some folks are having to find new doctors.

St. Joseph hasn't taken S&W insurance for quite some time....since about the time S&W announced they were building a hospital. I don't think it's related to the change in ownership.

St. Joseph has not been a network provider for SW insurance since SW announced they were building a hospital. At that same time, SW providers were no longer contracted with St. Joseph insurance. Patient could still go, but they would pay out of pocket, or out of network rates. This never applied to ER visits, as all insurances will cover an ER visit whether in network or not. However, if a SW ins patient had to be admitted to the hospital, they would have to be transported to The Med or SW hospital. If the St. Joseph front desk staff stated otherwise, they are/were misinformed. Same holds true for Right Care by SW which is a Medicaid HMO program. Those patients can't be seen at St. Joseph either.
