How long do you want to ignore this user?
My husband and I are celebrating our five year anniversary this weekend 10/24 and can't decide what to do! We're local in CS, and need some ideas for a weekend get away! Any ideas?

How far are you wanting to go? Fredricksburg is always a good option. Lots of rental cabins and bed and breakfasts to choose from.

We did consider Fredricksburg, but decided there would be nothing to do during the day that we would enjoy.

Dos Brisas is very nice.....and that is represented in their price. We've dined there several times but never stayed at the 'bungaloes/cottages'.

The Driscoll in Austin is fun and lots of good restaurants and bars and music within walking distance.

Fredericksburg is also fun and they have a pretty good brew pub there for a lower key weekend.

San Antonio riverwalk is always nice when the temperatures are moderate. Stay at the Contessa, order the paella for dinner. Or any of a dozen other hotels, some with great restaurants. There are at least 6 GREAT restaurants on the riverwalk if you do a little research.

How about the Hyatt Lost Pines outside Bastrop?

Or Galveston - we like the San Luis resort.

Can't imagine not being able to find things to do in Fredericksburg.

Fredericksburg is close to Enchanted Rock. That's a good days climbing and descending and checking out 'the cave'. Take a book on the geology of the area with you and add a learning experience to the view.

Barons Creekside in Fburg.

We're thinking the Contessa may be the winner for this trip, then Fburg headed back, then Luckenbach and ending at the Salt Lick! Thank you everyone!
