yep, that was it.
The pilots are at the MSC right now. Said they expect to be in our airspace for another hour or two after lunch.

They might've been around earlier this week too, but I saw one for about 30-45 minutes yesterday afternoon.
At an extreme distance and looking into the sun, I thought I saw Fifi flying SW of Easterwood on Tuesday, the 7th. At least the tail sure looked like her.
Fifi's only recent flight was from Ft. Worth to Midland.

Earlier in month 4 engined aircraft flying west.. from silhouette appears to have been B-17. Made ID from WWII recognition chart. Engine noise like radials.... and definitely elliptical type wing - short distance from trailing edge to tail plane...

There was a B-17 flying around I believe around 10-3. I saw it 3/4 times from my front yard in Bryan.
I could really only make out the tail. B 17 sounds potentially right. It was really a LONG way away and had the sun behind it.
Looks like a T-38 is back at again today.

I just happened to be driving down 2818 when it had just taken off. Beautiful airplane.
What type is the USAF light twin jet that frequently shoots approaches from the west? It has a very loud shrill high pitched engine noise that's almost above the threshold of pain.
Those are T-37's. My husband flew them in USMC flight school. They are no longer in service. They were replaced with the T-6 Texan.
