In most cases, you need extra equipment from your service provider. I know that Directv and Dish have special portable receivers and antennas. http://www.mydish.com/support/tailgater You may also have to use marine batteries for power as some tailgate locations like Spence Park do not allow generators. Here is some info on tailgating: http://tailgating-test.tamu.edu/resources/FAQ.html Hope this helps.

Find a tailgate spot beside someone who has a tv set up and watch theirs.

We are tailgaters!!!

Our A/V equipment is...
Tailgater Dish Network Satellite
Dish Receiver
Linked $5.99/mth subscriotion to our current home Diah Network package
2500 lumen projector
9' x 8' rubber coated blackout cloth made into a projector scree
4 speakers (like computer speakers or outdoor speakers, not like sterio speakers)
Photography backdrop setup for the projector screen
Extension cord
Multi outlet surge protector

Add chairs, tables, coolers, food, etc. During this heat, we bring a plastic swimming pool, place it on a large wicker-like mat and enclose it in a 20 panel (2.5' x 2.5' each panel... like those dog kennel type panels) to make a play area that is about 12 x 12 area for little kids to play and swim.

We bring big fans for a breeze on these hot tailgating weekends.
