What's up with a large Mexican flag hanging on Northpointe Crossing? Didn't know the place was making political statements.

Noticeable when driving north on Texas.

I haven't been past there, so I haven't seen it. But this past Monday/Tuesday was Mexico's celebration of Independence Day. So whoever put it up might have done so in celebration of that day.

Does the flag look like it was put up by one person -- as in, on a private balcony -- or is it some enormous thing covering the a whole part of the building -- in which case, it looks to have been put up by management (or a prankster)?

It's been up way before Mexico's holiday.

Maybe it's just the resident celebrating their heritage?

Perhaps the student living there is from.....maybe.....Mexico?!

The fascination with that complex and, apparently, the lifestyles of those who live there is really, well...fascinating...I guess.

Sounds like the place is filled with d-bags and Mexicans. Not really MyBCS's cup o tea.

At this point it would probably be easier just to change the name of the complex.

How about "Punto Norte" in honor of the Mexican flag.

Its been there for a few weeks. There are a number of other flags on balconies. It did make me wonder if it would still be there if someone showed their heritage via a confederate flag.

My personal favorites are the Cowboy Flags!

The way to stop this is complain to Northpointe management. They get enough phone calls from concerned citizens, they'll pass a rule and make tenants take down those flags.

Another way to stop it is for everyone here to call into the city and complain. Use catch phrases like "distraction to driving." It'll be taken up by a committee and introduced to the city council who will then pass a resolution against flags on balconies and code enforcement will take those flags down.

One way or another, we can impose our collective will against those young whippersnappers!

Ya know, that kinda reminds me of a song from "The Music Man." Anyone happen to think how that song goes...?

Well, hypothetically you are driving down Texas Ave or University Ave. A stiff breeze breaks one of these flags loose and fate plops it on your windshield. Unable to see or perhaps you are surprised by a large 3x5 piece of colored cloth you lose control of your vehicle. The odds are slim this will happen, but the first time it does all hell will break loose.
